Transgender

Many schools in Northumberland are already supporting children and young people who experience discomfort with the gender assigned to them at birth. The umbrella term ‘trans’ is used to describe children who are gender nonconforming, non-binary or transgender.

 

There is a  new resource to help Northumberland schools to be well-informed in supporting pupils at a time when they rely on informed, inclusive practitioners to help them. 

 

This toolkit requires a Google Chrome browser and contains legal advice, links and best practice to ensure schools are prepared to address this aspect of equality and diversity with confidence.
