End of EYFS 2018 / 2019
Phonics teaching in Reception and Years 1 and 2 follows the order of "Letters and Sounds" although teaching is creative and we spend time trying to put a child's phonetic knowledge into a real and usable context such as reading a book. As soon as a child recognizes three letters, we will start to show them how they can put them together to make a word. We are keen to show each child the relevant and importance of phonetic knowledge and how to apply it to help become fluent, expressive and enthusiastic readers and writers.
2018/2019
We are delighted with these results which have been achieved through smaller class sizes for phonics tuition and targeted individual programme of work.
As Headteacher of Morpeth All Saints Church of England First School, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our vibrant, caring and happy school. At Morpeth All Saints we strive to enable all children within our care to achieve their very best, fully utilising their God given gifts and talents.
