From 1st September 2013 There will be no entitlement for any leave within term time. Schools may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Headteachers will consider each request individually taking into account the circumstances, such as: the nature of the event for which leave is sought; the frequency of the request; whether the parent gave advance notice; and the pupil's attainment, attendance and ability to catch up on missed schooling. Headteachers will also determine the number of school days a child can be away from school if the leave is granted.
Penalty Notices will be issued.
Parents must, from 1 September 2013 pay £60.00 within 21 days or £120.00 within 28 days. This brings attendance penalty notices into line with other types of penalty notices and allows local authorities to act faster on prosecutions.
As Headteacher of Morpeth All Saints Church of England First School, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our vibrant, caring and happy school.
