In Green Class we have a daily reading session at the start of each day. Children will take part in a range of reading based activities. They will also read to Miss Kennedy and Mrs Hawkes at least once per week.
Children have a specific reading day, recorded in their reading record, where they will read to Miss Kennedy. Books will also be changed on this day. We encourage all of our children to read as much as possible at home, from a wide variety of sources.
Each time your child reads to you at home please record this in their yellow reading record. Staff will award Bookworm points each time this happens. Ask your child all about Bookworm points ( You can also find information in their reading records to explain how these work).
At least twice a week your child will use the programme 'Reading Plus'. This programme provides an exciting reading experience which also focuses on comprehension of the text. You can find your child's login details in their yellow reading record. We hope they enjoy using this at home as much as possible too.
