PE this half term will be on Wednesday morning and children will change into their PE kits in school. Please could you make sure PE kits are brought in on Monday and then children can take them home on Friday to be washed. There may be further opportunities for PE on other days so the children can practise for sports day.
SPRING 2
Our topic this half term is African Adventure. I have attached an overview so you can see what your child will be learning about.
SCIENCE WEEK
We had a very busy week carrying out experiments and we thoroughly enjoyed having visitors coming into school to teach us new things.
Week 6
A great start to the week. Mr Ryle very kindly talked to us about farming and brought in his tractor and some lambs for us to look at.
Happy new year! I hope everyone had a great holiday. Thank you again, from Mrs Ridley and myself, for the lovely Christmas gifts we received.
I have attached the Spring 1 overview, so you can see what your child will be learning this half term. Our topic is 'Superheroes'.
To end this half term we visited St James' Church to consolidate what we have been learning. We had a great time baptising a baby doll with Rev Beth Rookwood.
Week 1
A great start to the year with 100% attendance. The children have settled in really well. They thoroughly enjoyed bringing in their toys and talking about them. These toys will be needed again in week 3, I will let you know which day they are required. In maths, the children have been ordering and sequencing numbers to twenty with number cards and using interactive games in the computer suite. (Photos to follow)
Week 2
In maths, the children have been looking at the number arrays on dice and dominoes and they have been trying to recall the numbers without counting the spots. They have also been finding the number 1 more than a given number up to 100. Please remember to log on to Active learn, as I have allocated some activities to consolidate learning.
In English this week, the children had great fun with the text 'It's not a stick.' They enjoyed the role play which stimulated their imagination creating their own ideas for their 'It's not a stick.'
In maths, they practised using number lines to find 1 and 2 more than a given number to 20. Please remember to log on to the active learn website to complete homework tasks. I have put some links below for extra learning activities.
I hope you enjoy these sites. Keep practising!
