What an amazing year it has been in Blue Class! We are so proud of all of the children and their achievements. We hope you all have a wonderful summer and have lots of fun. Thank you to all the parents/carers for all their support throughout the year, it is much appreciated. We would also like to thank you for your generous cards and gifts.
We'll you in September as you come past our doors
This week we have explored through science. We had a range of visitors including:
We also carried out our own investigations. Have a look at the photos to see all the fun things we did.
This week we went on a walk in our local environment to look for signs of Autumn. We discovered different coloured leaves, conkers and different types of trees.
We enjoyed making our own vegetable soup and bread. They were delicious. On Wednesday we came to school dressed as a woodland creature. It was fun to see how different we all looked.
During half term, don't forget to collect your autumn items and bring them back to school on Monday 31st October.
In Blue Class we have been exploring and learning all about Autumn. We have been on a hunt around the school field for signs of Autumn and recorded these using the ipads.
We have been enjoying lots of Percy the Park Keeper stories and decided to change our role play area into Percy's Park. We enjoy having picnics and looking after the animals in there!
We also read the story of the Tiger who came to tea. We then made our own sandwiches, crispy cakes and wrote some invitations. We then enjoyed an afternoon tea party with our food, lots of tiger dancing and a visit from a real tiger!
Don't forget next week is our Autumn week in school:
Monday is our woodland walk, children must have their wellington boots and a warm coat.
Tuesday we will be doing lots of Autumn and Harvest related activities
Wednesday is woodland creature day...don't forget to come to school dressed as a woodland animal or creature of your choice
Thursday is our Harvest Celebration at 9.15am in the school hall. We hope to see you all there!
We have had a very busy first two weeks in school. We have had lots of fun getting to know the children and making new friends. Blue Class children have been exploring the classroom and the different areas of learning. During this time, we have made our own class rules, which are as follows:
This week we have followed the children's interests in making potions which tied in with Roald Dahl's 100th birthday and the story of the BFG. Some of the activities we have been taking part in include: dancing to the 'Wizzpopper' song, making dreams and dream catchers and painting pictures of the characters from the story.
Next week we will be focussing on personal, social and emotional development as well as physical development. You can help your child at home by:
Thank you to all the parents who have signed up to take our class guinea pigs home...there are three weekends left available.

Our school is situated in attractive and extensive well maintained grounds in a small housing estate, Lancaster Park, which is north of the town of Morpeth. The school first opened in 1972 and was formerly known as Wansbeck St Aidan Church of England Aided First School until it was renamed in 2001.Read More of the school welcome page
