KS2 Gymnastics Festival

On Wednesday 25th, 6 Year 4 children (and 2 adults!), made there way to the Riverside Leisure Centre to take part in the partnership gymnastics festival. They did a fantastic job of representing MAS and came 8th overall. We are very proud of them all. As well as this amazing feat the children were also praised for their sportsmanship towards the other competitors and their support for each other. These attributes are held very highly at MAS and we could not be prouder of the children who took part. Well done!

Sports Council 9 November 2016

Present : Anya, Darcey, Theo, Max, Emma, Dillan, LK

We asked the children what type of sporting events they would like to arrange for our school, here are our favourite ideas.

  • “Invent your own athletic minecraft game” Theo

  • “Obstacle course competition in school.” Emma

  • “Raise some money for cancer with a sponsored match or sponsored run around the field doing laps when the weather is dry.” Max

  • “Invite our Mums and Dads in to school to do PE with us.” Anya

  • “we can have races in our class”. Samuel

We will be meeting very soon to put our ideas into action.

The school's sports council decided they would like to have some year group races in PE. Jade and Purple worked together in teams to complete different challenges. The children showed determination when completing the challenging activities and cheered each other on. Well done Jade and Purple!

Today 16 Year 4s attended the Morpeth and Ponteland Yr4 Football Competition. Team A did an amazing job and were undefeated however, due to goal difference, came 2nd overall. Team B worked well together and everyone had a great time. Well done to all those who attended. A great display of sportsmanship and team work.

Here are some things the Y2 children said about the Multi Skills Festival that took place at Chantry...

"I liked the hurdles. You got to do star jumps in the hurdles."

"I liked the football.

You had to get the ball past the goalie.

I scored two goals."

"I loved the skipping. I'm so good at it now."

"I made a new friend. She was one of the sport leaders. I loved her balancing station. I was good at standing on one foot."

"I liked bowling because I got two sixes."

"I liked the agility poles because it's like rugby."

"I liked the bouncy hoppers.

I got really high and I nearly won all the races."

Thank you to all involved for organising such a great event!
