In Blue Class this week we have joined together the theme of space and bears! On Tuesday we went on a trip to Seven Stories in Newcastle. Up in the exhibition, we looked at all the different children's stories about bears...there are a lot!! We huddled into the bear cave to listen to a story before getting the chance to explore. Ask us which bear story was our favourite.
Down in the workshop we heard a story about a little bear called Otto who came to life! We then joined in with several activities. We had such a fun day!
Back at school this week, we have looked at the story of 'Whatever Next'. This prompted lots of ideas from the children including making a rocket in class, We decided we should have a teddy bears picnic in space next week so wrote our own shopping lists. Check back on our website next week to see what we chose.
Thank you to all the parents and carers that came to our Spring Craft session. The children produced some amazing things including egg cosies, lamb bookmarks and collage crosses.
Next weeks literacy target: Can you write your own list?
Next weeks maths target: Can you recognise different coins?
Don't forget, if you have any items such as cardboard boxes, clean yoghurt pots, kitchen roll tubes etc. we would love to have them for some junk modelling.
Our school is situated in attractive and extensive well maintained grounds in a small housing estate, Lancaster Park, which is north of the town of Morpeth. The school first opened in 1972 and was formerly known as Wansbeck St Aidan Church of England Aided First School until it was renamed in 2001.Read More of the school welcome page
